As Dubai enters the next phase of its growth, we look at what continues to attract businesses, investors and families – and where opportunities may emerge in the months ahead.
Dubai’s growth story is continuing to evolve. For many years, the emirate has attracted people through its combination of lifestyle, connectivity and opportunity. Increasingly, however, the conversations we are having with clients show just how broad that appeal has become.
Entrepreneurs are considering Dubai as a base from which to grow internationally. Established companies are looking at the UAE as part of their expansion plans. Investors are exploring its property and business markets, while individuals and families are considering the longer-term lifestyle advantages of making Dubai home.
The numbers reflect that momentum. Dubai has retained its position as a leading global destination for foreign direct investment, while its business community continues to expand. Dubai Chamber of Commerce reported exports and re-exports of AED 356.5 billion in 2025, up 15.1% year-on-year, alongside more than 71,800 new companies joining the Chamber.
But statistics only tell part of the story.
One of Dubai’s enduring strengths is its ability to evolve. Over the past two decades it has developed from a rapidly emerging regional centre into an increasingly sophisticated international hub for business, investment and talent.
For UK businesses and individuals, connectivity is another important part of the equation. The UAE provides access not only to its domestic market, but to opportunities across the Middle East and into Asia and Africa. Combined with its pro-business environment and established international community, that creates a compelling proposition for people looking beyond their home market.
We see that interest first-hand in Edinburgh. Since establishing Dubai Family Office's UK presence, our conversations have ranged from family relocation and property to company formation, investment and international expansion. The common thread is a desire to understand the opportunity properly and make informed decisions.
And Dubai isn't the only market attracting attention. Abu Dhabi's continued investment and economic diversification are also creating opportunities for international businesses and investors, broadening the UAE proposition further.
As we move towards the final part of 2026, we expect those conversations to continue.
